OUR ATTORNEYS
Mark Martin is a lawyer specializing in International Law and has been practicing for over 14 years. Based in Belo Horizonte, MG, he operates throughout all states of Brazil, representing and defending individuals and companies worldwide. In addition, Mark is the founder of Martin Advogados. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais and a master’s degree in International Law from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
Moreover, Mark served as President of the OAB/MG International Law Commission from 2019 to 2021. He is also a postgraduate in Constitutional Law, a specialist in International Law from CEDIN, and a member of the Brazilian Institute of Private International Law. With extensive professional experience in international contracts and litigation, he is referenced by the North American Embassy in Brazil. Furthermore, he is a professor and is married.
Finally, Mark speaks and writes English fluently.
A partner lawyer at Martin Advogados, he graduated in Law from Centro Universitário Unihorizontes and later pursued a postgraduate degree in Family and Succession Law from IBMEC/SP. Additionally, he is a member of the OAB/MG Family Law Commission, as well as the Family and Succession Law Association – ADFAS.
Previously, he worked at the Public Ministry of the State of Minas Gerais, having been selected through a public process, in the 11th Public Prosecutor’s Office of Betim/MG, which represented the district’s children and youth court.
Furthermore, he served, also by public selection, in the Public Defender’s Office of the district of Igarapé/MG, where he worked in the areas of criminal law and criminal execution.
Currently, he is an active lawyer in Family and Succession Law, with substantial experience in handling complex litigation in all areas of this legal field. He is fluent in both spoken and written English.
In addition, he is proficient in both Portuguese and English.
As a lawyer and partner at Martin Advogados, he focuses his practice primarily on matters relating to business, consumer, and intellectual property law. Additionally, he advises both national and foreign clients in the areas of litigation and consultancy. Notably, he stands out in cases involving business contracts, company incorporation, business dissolutions, competition law, trademark registrations, and copyrights.
He holds an LLM and MBA in Business Law, a postgraduate degree from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), and a bachelor’s degree in law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais.
